Time flies when you’re abroad

If you haven’t guessed already the title of this blog post refers to the ONE YEAR that has passed since my last blog post.  I can honestly say that I have no idea what happened.  I suppose my 2nd year in Korea didn’t disappoint and I’m still as busy as ever, I’ve simply been carrying on as normal…..working, seeing friends at the weekend, taking Korean classes – albeit with feeling a lot more settled and aware of where I am now.  With more time in Korea I’ve become more understanding of Korean culture and the parts of it which I like and don’t like.

I’d like to say that the last year has brought me clarity about what I’d like to do in the future but it hasn’t really.  I’m still thinking on that one.  I did however decide that life in Daegu has given me all it has to offer and so I’m currently waiting on the outcome of an application for a job in Seoul. If I’m successful I’ll move there in February next year and this blog will get a whole lot more exciting!  In terms of travel I visited the Philippines last January which was an interesting experience that I’d definitely like to share my thoughts on with you.  I also went back to the UK in the summer so that I could check in with friend and family after 18 months abroad.  I also wanted to get a some perspective on how I feel about my life abroad compared to what could be back home.  I’ll be sharing my thoughts on that here soon too.

All in all, life is still pretty sweet but it is not without complications, moments of self-doubt, homesickness and a fear of missing out on something happening somewhere else.  I’m comfortable and I have the privilege of being able to share my life with some pretty amazing people at the moment too.

More to come.  Soon.
